Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between IP Transit and IP Peering?

IP Transit is a paid service providing full Internet access via our network. Peering is usually settlement-free exchange of traffic between two networks. We offer both — paid transit for global reach plus peering at RINEX and NAPAfrica.

Do I need my own ASN and IP addresses?

Yes — you need your own Autonomous System Number and at least a /24 IPv4 prefix. We fully support IPv4 and IPv6, and can announce space you hold with AFRINIC, RIPE or ARIN.

Which submarine cables do you use?

Our backbone rides ACE, WACS, 2Africa and EllaLink, with landing access via Teraco CT2 Cape Town and Telehouse London Docklands — physically diverse paths out of Africa.

What languages does your NOC support?

Our Kigali NOC is staffed by Canadian and American engineers — we support customers in English and Afrikaans, 24/7/365.

How quickly can ports be provisioned?

Most on-net ports in TrAC Kigali, Teraco CT2, Telehouse Docklands or TELEHOUSE Teleport can be live within a few business days of order.
